Some comments on the balloon cookers／バルーンクッカーについての指摘いくつか
The bigger balloon is heavy hence not easy to move or transport, also to be set by an individual. It took several MEN to move it to a sunny spot once air is pumped into it.／大きい方のバルーンクッカーは重く、したがって動かしたり移動させるのが大変。さらに、一人でセットするのも容易ではない。空気を充填後、太陽光を確保できる場所に移動させるのに数人の男性の力が必要。
Cleaning of dust from the cooking surface is also a task – this is also because of its width.／反射面のホコリを掃除するのも大変－反射面が大きすぎることも要因。
It takes about 7-10 minutes of first pumping to fill it up with adequate air. This makes it rather labour intensive. ／空気を適度に充填させるのに７～１０分必要。結果労働負荷がかなりかかることになる。
Its aperture is wide in scope so its dangerous to the eyes n matter which direction the cook want to stand in order to set food on it or check on the cooking progress.／開口部が大きく開いているため、調理人がクッカーに食材をセットする際、あるいは調理状況を確認する際に、どの方向に立っていようと目を傷めるおそれがある。
The width is also an issue as tall people may reach the food or the focal point more easily than average people and most women are of average height.／（クッカーの）幅の広さも問題で、背の高い人なら鍋や焦点に比較的容易に手が届くだろうが、平均的な背丈の人物では難しい。そして大抵の女性は「平均的な背丈の人物」である。
Getting an open space large enough to place it and safe from sticks, thorns may not be easy.／クッカーを設置でき、棒やトゲの刺さる心配が無い十分広い場所を確保するのは容易ではないかもしれない。
Since it is wide it has a wide focal point and this makes it good for cooking larger pots of food, but we are concerned with the weight of food on the balloon itself.／クッカーの幅が広く、焦点も広いため、大きな鍋で料理を調理するのには適している。しかし、クッカーの上に載る食材の重さについては気にしているところ。
The current long metals rods we are using to place the wire mesh to cook food are not appropriate and anyone accidentally knocking / pushing off one of them means that the food will spill all over the reflective surface of the cooker.／調理をするための金網を置くために現在使っている長い金属製の竿については、望ましい部材とは言えず、誰かが不意に竿のどちらかを触ったり押したりすれば、料理がクッカーの反射面一面にこぼれてしまうことになる。
Durability of the balloon cookers is also under the spot light as one of them tore at the seam and we had to use tape to repair it and this after less that 10 uses. Picture／バルーンクッカーの耐久性についても関心事となっており、所持しているクッカーのうちの一つは、１０回も使用していないのにつなぎ目で破れてしまい、テープで修繕しなければならなかった（写真参照）：
The question of cost is yet to be dealt with once it passes the field test.／フィールドテストをクリアした段階で、コスト（製造費？）の問題についても検討することとなる。
COMMENT／指摘
As the issues above receive your attention, we want to state that we are still just on the technical appropriateness and ease of use stage. We are yet to test on efficiency of speed of cooking as compared to other solar cookers in the same family.／上記の問題が関心を呼ぶところだが、我々はまだ使用に関する技術的な適正さと使い勝手について検証している段階であることを述べておきたい。調理の早さに係る効率についても、同種の他のクッカーと比較して試験するつもりである。
